Boo Boo has an amazing story of luck, love and survival.This very special dog came into our lives 6 months ago after he was hit by a car in heavy traffic.Nothing is known or can be guessed of his life before that day, but this dog knows what it is to be loved and he never doubts the people around him will care for him.Boo-Boo was a stray, run over by a vehicle that kept going. A courageous and determined young woman saw the accident and went to his rescue. She got him out of the road and into her home, where she nursed him through the rest of the night and called us in the morning. X-rays told the tragic story - Boo-Boo had a broken pelvis and two broken rear legs. He was in surgery for almost 4 hours. Following the surgery we were amazed to see him stand up and walk, gingerly to be sure, but unassisted. Back at Maranatha Farm we kept Boo-Boo on piles of soft blankets.His gentle acceptance of his restrictions was part of what made us love him so much. Today Boo-Boo runs and plays with the other dogs and enjoys a reputation as the class clown of Maranatha Farm. The lady who rescued him still visits with him, but is not in a position to give him a permanent home. We hope to place him locally so she may still be able to see him once in a while. The only special needs this boy has will be in his future. When he becomes an old dog he can be expected to have arthritis in his hips and may need medication to help his mobility.
